Default How much to have the front bumper painted?

My body shop just charged me $500 to remove the bumper, sand it, paint it and put it back on. What do you think of that price? He also installed a new OEM front spoiler that I purchased seperately.

If it looks like it is a really good quality job thats not a bad price at all.

I think that is really expensive considering I just got my Hardtop painted and the front bumper for 400 bux. Great job on it as well.

Id maybe query the time they are quoting to remove/replace the front bumper - should be no more than 15 minutes each way. Also, "installing" the oem front spoiler is a matter of unbolting and rebolting 8 bolts.

For paint alone, I would say $200-250 is an average price.

When it comes to paint, you really do get what you paid for. I don't mind paying 100-200 dollars more for a quality job.

Its definitely time for me to repaint front bumper & lip again. I would highly recommend to remove the lip & bumper yourself and just drop it off at the shop for spraying!
Soon as I get a price quote I'll let you know what locals here are charging.

I was charged around $350 to repaint the front bumper at this body shop that did a remarkable job. This was after the dealer screwed up the paint job in the first place.

Sometimes you don't necessary get a better job by paying more. Just make sure the place has a good reputation and look for the types of car they usually work on. Sometimes you can see cars they are working on parked outside and you can query their work that way.

Good luck...

I got my front bumper painted (acura rsx-s) for 150 bucks at a shop by my house. The bumper i had before was damaged so I bought a new one from a friend which he had it painted type r yellow. The shop did not sand it or primer it they just threw on the satin silver metalic. The paint looked really really good, but after about a month of going for canyon runs the paint has a few chips and you could see the yellow paint under. The only way i would recommend this shop is if your painting the bumper the same color it was before.

500 bucks is about right, maybe a tad steep... labor rates vary greatly from area to area though.

If the shop is reputable and guarantees their work/ paint for atleast 5 years, thats a good price.
