Default How Much Oil Do You Burn?!~

Just changed to Motul 8100 5w-40 @ last oil change, been about 1000 km now, just checked my oil 5 mins. ago, I had to top up about .2 L......But I when I changed my oil last time, instead 4.8L that the car calls for, I put the whole 5L in (because I know this car use oil and use oil fast, and I drive hard quite often).....so techically, my car burnt about .4 L in less then 1000 km......

Now, anybody use more oil than I am or less.......

thx

I burn zip, but there are many tales of over 1 qt per 3000 miles (approx 1 liter per 6000 km) in an otherwise perfectly normal and healthy engine.

The other posters on this thread have AP2s which don't tend to burn much oil (if at all). I burn about a litre every 5-6k km.

I ran M1 0W-40 for 6500 miles and I burned ~1 qt over that time. I've been running M1 5W-30 for ~5500 miles and haven't lost a drop. Could be the cooler weather, change in oil viscosity, or just the engine finishing its break-in (13000 then, ~23500 now).
