The real leather is perforated and the faux leather has a smooth finish. Real leather can be found on the seating surfaces, gripping surfaces of the steering wheel, console armrest, door grip and part of door panel, knee brace near console, and a patch on each door sill (a hand brace to enter and extricate yourself from the cockpit?). Did I miss any?

If I'm not mistaken, the entire front of the seat is leather. Only the back surfaces are vinyl.

I do know, too, that the entire steering wheel cover, perforated and plain sections both, are leather.

I believe the nonperforated seating surfaces are leather as well, i.e. the bolsters.

Not sure how that Lexol is, but if it is thick, it may be difficult to get it out of the perforations; use sparingly on the applicator so the perfs aren't filled with the stuff.

I agree with Rick: the entire front part of the seats and the entire steering wheel cover is leather, regardless of perforations. Also, some of the perforated parts like the door handle (and the parking brake handle and the pad in the bottom of the door jamb, for that matter) are plastic. If you look at them closely, you can see the preforations don't go through.

BTW, Lexol is a thin, tannish-looking liquid. It usually comes in a spray container. I just spray it on and rub it into the leather with my bare hand, let it soak for a minute or so, and buff off the excess with a cloth.

For the record, whenever Rick makes a statement about the S2000 with respect to leather...you can be assured that he is right on the money.

I believe it is vinyl. Cleaning: nothing that will cook the dash like Armorall.
