Has anyone taken all the carpeting and other cosmetic stuff out of the trunk? I know that there is a large piece of styrofoam for the jack and tire iron, plus the spare tire in the trunk, and possible other things that can be removed to increase space for other things.
I was wondering, if the spare tire is on the right side as you look into the trunk, what is on the left? Is that where the motor for the soft top goes, or can this area be used for something else (speakers, for example?).

The fuel tank is on the left.

It's big enough to hold 2 cases of wine, plus a few extra bottles -- what more do you need?

Actually, it's not the fuel TANK, it's the filler tube for the tank that is below that is on the left side. Not to nitpick you, but just wanted to be more accurate as to what is in that space.

There is a small gap, yes, I said small, on the left side which you could put things that are thin. You could fit an amp or something like that in there, the only consideration would be adequate ventilation, IMO.

It is big enought to hold 2 golf bags. I remember reading that in the marketing material way back when I bought the car but thought it wasn't possible. Last week I actually shoehorned two bags in there.

I have the tools wrapped in a towel and stashed in the spare tire to free up space in the well area. My laptop case fits in there perfectly and still leaves most of the trunk area free.

I have the Honda CD Changer above the fuel pump access plate (between the spare and the filler tubes). Then between the filler tubes and the passenger compartment I have my mobile radio and CB mounted. Leaves all the trunk space usable.
