Since you started a new thread, it is, by definition, NOT an old thread.

Personal Opinion:
To make comparisons which are meaningful, the comparisons need to be apples to apples. For instance, are you talking about liability only? Are you talking about only the minimum legally required amount of liability? And if you are including comprehensive and collision, to what amount? And what deductible? What age group? Driving record? Number of claims in the last x years? Location? Those all factor into costs.

Has the potential to be an informative discussion, 'cept needs the criteria more carefully defined.

My S2K is a second car so I pay about $200 for 6 months. Full coverage with $500 deductible and $100k for accident and injury.

You got your license a year ago. That's probably why you are paying what you are paying. Driving history (length -- or lack thereof, etc) factors into your rates. As does location, age of the car, how much/#miles you drive it (weekender or a daily?), and a variety of other factors. It's really not cut and dry.

I'm 23 and have been driving for 7 years. No accidents or tickets. Full coverage on my S. I live in LA county, commute 25 miles one way to work.

200/month. Limits are 250/500k.

There is no reason why it shouldn't be "up." . Yes, it's an interesting topic.
