Default How to remove only radio door?

Although my car is pretty clean, somehow there's some random gunk in the crevices on the backside of the radio door.

On that note, are those crevices there for a reason? What gives?

Anyhow, how do I take just the radio door off so I can get all of that stuff out?

I also might change to the CR one. Do you guys think it'd look OK not changing to any other CR trim?

I just changed mine to the CR door, there are two pins one on each hinge, what I did is got a small screwdriver(like eyeglass ones)and push those pins out and door will come off,but be careful and watch the spring(make sure it dont fly away)and reverse it with the new door

You have to remove that whole piece that has the two vents on it. It takes all of 30 seconds.

How? Just pry at it? Is it affixed by clips? The last thing that I want are pry marks in my car, so I want to avoid as much unnecessary stuff as possible!

Note the post by Freq:

With a MY'04+ console the console needs to be removed (or at least pulled up) first before the radio door assembly can be removed. FYI

Your MY 04 does NOT just pull right out. The bottom lip of that vent assembly is behind the top section of the center console. You want to unclip that top section, pull it up and then back a bit onto the shifter. Then you can pull out the vent assembly.

Just gotta work it out. Feels like it might break but pulls right out with some convincing.

Nope, like SheDrivesIt says, you've gotta remove part of the center console. I just saw it in a thread. Should have kept the link to put it here.
