Default How to replace bulb above rear license plate?

I need to change the bulb that's above my rear license plate. How do I get to the bulb?

According to the manual the entire housing is just clipped onto the bumper but I can't seem to just pull it off. Any suggestions?

TIA

give it a very hard push (towards the front of the car). it will come off. if not, you can reach behind it and try to pry up the corners to loosen the clips as you're pulling(pushing).

I found this old thread... having difficulty with removing the license plage bulbl assembly.

Where are you guys applying the pressure?
Does the black clip pinching the bumber come off with the bulb housing?
Do the instructions above apply to a 2004 MY?

Thanks!

As am I. I push and pull, but it just keeps bending the bumper.

Trying looking up to give yourself a better idea of what needs to be done (thats how I figured it out) and with a some pushing, using a screwdriver to pry, I got it to pop out. Definatly not one of the easier bulbs to change. However, the white LED look was worth it to me

Where did you pry?

Is the black clip on the bumper supposed to come off or does the bulb housing seperate from the clip. Hopefully there is no differences in model years, otherwise we could be talking about different things.

Thanks for any help. I'm frustrated by this simple task but I know how fragile and unforgiving plastic parts can be.

Since my bulb is out, I would appreciate help on the original post.

You can do a thread search on "LED License Bulb".

The clear lense itself can be popped right out, the rest will stay in place.
