Default hydroplaned, wrecked, which tires to use now

i drove through some high water on the highway at around 40mph (I slowed down from 60) and the back end came out on me. the rear driver side wheel took most of the force from the cement wall and the back bumper took the rest.

the tires weren't great; but they weren't bald so i am open to suggestions of wheels that hold the road a little better.

also, i'm replacing my 00 rear bumper with an 04....any thoughts on that?

sorry to hear....did you drive it home like that????

Looks like your spare is at and angle and I can only imagine what that might have done to the differential...

That said for better wet performance, many people reccomend S-03. However if the water is enough even those won't help you.

Did you purchase this car new or used? I'm assuming used. Did it come with an owner's manual?

If so may I suggest you take the time to read it? Your spare should NOT be on the rear of the car. You should move one of the front tires to the rear and put the spare on the front of the car.

This is one of the many helpful things you will learn about your car from reading the manual.

As far as tires are concerned the OEM S02's, when not worn, are fine in wet conditions; however, if you plan to be daily driving the car you may want to consider the S03's as they seem to be an all around better package with a little less performance and grip in comparison to the OEM S02.

yes, i bought it used.
yes, i drove it home like that.
no, didn't read that in the manual.
yes, basically the whole suspension is being replaced on that side.

should i be concerned about the diff after driving it home like that? it's my 7th Honda but first rwd so i'm not sure how that affects it.

S-02's or S-03's? i'll definitely check those out.

FWD, RWD whatever......Never put the spare donut on the drive wheels. Always take a good one from the other end.

I think that might be worse than you think, look how far off the panels are on the passenger side.
