I almost baught a bad s2k -
Found a great deal (so i thought) on craigslist about 2 hours away.
03 s2k in good condition with 56k miles on it for $95k.
Called him - we talked - and it sounded like it was good condition - but he noted a few odd things - "the title has a "flood" stamp but is clean. this is because the previous owner left the top down during a bad storm and they had to replace the interior. i didnt know this till after i baught the car, but you cant tell"
and
"the top leaks a little during bad thunder storms down the side of the windows"
THUS -
Kept calling the seller days in and days out - no response. odd
finally i get a hold of him via txt and the car is still for sale.
ask him for the vin - no response - ask him for the vin - responds with bad vin.
ask him for the vin - get the vin.
car fax returns that in 05 - the car was in hurrican katrina and the title was stamped as "flood damaged".
current onwer was aware of this UNLESS hes a retard and didnt get a report on the car. current owner has only owned the car for 10 months.
something told me that this seller was starting to expierence issues and is looking for an IDIOT to sell the car too.
its sad that people actually fall for shit like this and dont do there homework. Could it have been a good deal? POSSIBLY, but i dont want to be that person to gamble 10k on it. Back to FL this week to pick up my 01 s2k for 95

That's the most expensive s2k I've ever heard of. Ok but seriously, assuming you meant to say $9.5k, there are still some flood cars out there from Katrina that have made their way up North. I haven't heard of one lately but I guess people are still trying to get rid of them. At least you did your homework and didn't get screwed into buying a car that would have given you problems until the day you got rid of it!
