Default I can't believe this actually happened

I was turning onto the freeway and was going under an underpass. I was in 2nd gear about to go into 3rd, but thought it would be a good idea to let the engine sing a bit in a closed environment. So I leaned into the loud pedal just enough to hear it - which turned out to be a 300 dollar mistake...

My Garmin Nuvi fell off its mount, bounced off my dashboard, and I heard it bounce 3 times on the concrete as I was driving off. At the time I figured it just fell on the floor of the car, until I look for it later, and realize what had happened.

Its been a rough s2000 related week for other reasons as well, I got some retread kicked up at my car, knocking off my grill, central splash guard and right strake - pretty frustrating!

Anyways, I was wondering if you guys had any stories of things falling, flying or getting flung out of your car. If you do, post em up!

Sorry to hear that man, for both of the circumstances you had to endure this past week. Good Luck

wow, dude... that totally sucks. i almost don't believe it.

fortunately, for myself, i've never had anything that cost money fly out of the car.

i've onyl had paper and napkins fly out of the car when i was going 70mph on the freeway. nothing big... but i felt a bit embarrassed nonetheless. personally, if i ever saw anything flying out of a convertible, i'd see it as a funny occurrence. obviously, not in your case though.

Where did you mount the unit? Did the windshield mount go with it or just the unit? I have one and I need to push the bottom thing to release it from the mount. It seems odd that it did that.

one day i was driving down the interstate, and the wrapper from a freshly enjoyed 3 musketeers flew out of the cupholder. well, the asshole in the civic behind me decided that i must have thrown something as his car, and came up beside me, asked me why i was "throwing sh1t at his car", and tossed a half empty open drink cup that bounced off my windshield. he then took off and refused to look at me when i caught up to him again...he better be glad i was in a hurry to get to a football game.

I'd go back and look for it. If it still works, contact Garmin and tell them the story. Heck, you never know; they may take yours for some advertising about toughness and give you a new one. Or, they may feel sorry for you and hook you up.

Can't hurt to try.

I've always wondered whether the Navi would fly out ... seriously, I was just talking to a friend last month about. We actually concluded the chances are so low ... that it most likely won't happen
