Well I got home from work today and it took about 45 min but, I got it out

I was out there with a butter knife and hammer "chiseling" the ice out from around the tires and pouring hot water on the ice. With help from my husband pushing, we got it out. Hurray! Plus it was 60 degrees today.

We had so much snow this winter there was no where to shovel it to, so there was a pile of it in front of the S. That will not happen next year! The S will get shoveled out!

Hurray! I can drive it tomorrow!

xviper - you best not waste any of our Colorado water in Cali on such a woosey alternative to shovelling, otherwise I'll waste it here, and you'll never get any... oh wait, if Cali runs out of water, they'll probably all end up back here...aaarrrrrgggghhhh! (That's ok, I can build'em homes!)

Ran a bit again this am, then it started to snow again. Made it back home in time, however. Looks like a long week of snow, so I'm garaged again. It was a great ride while it happened!

OK, I guess you don't wanna know what we put in the water before you get it then, huh?

xviper

I have Cooper GTZ's high performance all season radials on the car. Better tread wear with the equivalent speed rating. I don't do crazy things with this car anyway. I want the car to last.

The first year I had the car I drove it all winter with S02's, I got caught in a couple of snow / ice storms with a 50 mile commute home from work, it was a nightmare. I bought a beater to drive this winter.

Thanks for the advice though.

BTW, xviper, loved the spark plug thread.

And how do you get the water before us?! (Unless you are affecting the atmosphere... which, having seen the LA smog, I dare say you are. Hey, it just helps it snow more!) I'm in the mountains. Coors is recycled, well, don't drink Coors...!

glad to see ya got a little driving time in skibum! i only garaged it 3 days this year (so far...knocking on wood). one day that i should have left it home it took me 20 minutes to drive 4 miles into work. the 02's and no additional weight in the trunk (my michigan friends would have been ashamed of that basic oversite) resulted in almost no traction. my back end slipped out every time i accelerated or took my foot off the gas.

thank god i grew up driving rwd vehicles in michigan. getting control back is instinctive whereas an entire generation of fwd drivers are experiencing it for the first time.

ps - ski, let's plan some golf. come on down here anytime and i'll get up there injuly or so when your courses open up

I began my suntan this weekend, between washing two cars and doing tow top-down mini-trips.

There's lots of places where the back roads are covered with running water off the fields. I hope this is the last inconvenience of winter 02-03.

I'm looking forward to rain to wash away all the road salt and municipal street cleaners to haul all the cinder stones away.
