10W-30, but if I were you, I'd buy the Honda OEM filter and take that in with the car for the change - don't use an aftermarket filter this mechanic may have lying around.

You can order them online here - http://www.handa-accessories.com/s2000-03.html

Well, they are Honda filters, so go to a Honda dealership.

so any honda filter will do, or it has to be specific to the s2000, also the oil 10w-30...which brand would be the best to put in and that is synthetic correct?

Yes, its a honda filter specific to the s2000. You can also use non honda high end filters like Amsoil, or even Mobil 1. Since you have an 01, you can switch to synthetic. You need high quality 10W30. Most places dont have anything higher end than mobil 1. DO NOT use Royal Purple.

Manual states 7,500 for stock oil (I think- i'd have to check) so I'd imagine at least that.

May I ask why? I used it once, and while I wasn't impressed, I didn't see any reason not to use it, except for the price.
