i was browsing the net and founded this forum it really pissed me off, sorry if this is a stupid topic just wanted to share .
seriously no offence to those who drive mustangs and cobra, i really like the classic mustang and think it looks really nice. but i think the reason why mustangs and cobras are so fast is because they have ABSOLUTELY no technology built into they're engine, all they do is make they're displacement as BIG possible, while honda tries to make they're s2000 engine as small as possible and make it as powerful as possible, see the difference?

if anyone feels offended or just think my topic is plain stupid i would be happy to take it off asap.

My wife used to own a '98 mustang GT 5 sp. and yeah, it was fun to do burnouts with it, but it felt a bit like a tractor!
And c'mon, we are talking about two different animals here! There's nothing to be pissed-off about.

 

i wouldn't get too bent out of shape. He clearly doesn't know what he is talking about. I have driven plenty of Stangs in my day. Starting with a 66 Model all the way up to present day. They are fine, but they have nothing on the S2000. The only thing that DA said in that thread that was right was that the Mustang is a better drag car. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out and clearly he isn't one. I love how he bags on real racing and Autocrossing. Not but a month ago I saw several Z06s and a mustang or two fall victim to our S2000 brothers Garrett and Brian at the autocross in Summerville.everytime I see a stang at an autocross I think the same thing....what the hell is this guy thinking. Those things handle like crap. And lastly, did you see tyhe 0-60 time he posted? LOL 6.7 sec? For those of you not in the know most reviews rate our car at 5.4-5.5 for 0-60. I mean wow, he is way off. People are ignorant. Don't sweat the small stuff...

 

Well...everybody is allowed their opinion.

But I will tell you that the new Mustang is not all about displacement. There is some technology in there. It's a modular overhead cam engine with variable cam timing (not quite VTEC but similar idea). The DOHC version of this engine was selected by Koenigsegg to make one of the fastest production cars in the world.

yea don't worry about those kinda people, theyll get there ass handed to them by a b16 turbo civic hatch one night and then they will shut there mouths, but saying that... ignorance is bliss. I could care less about mustangs too. I don't like the new ones (too bulky for my taste), they are all over the place. I live here in Fl and don't see S2000's here, there, oh and over there in the parking lot, and don't forget in your neighbors drive way. They have the v6, v6 pony edition, GT, cobra, Saleen, Roush. Yea, its kind of riduculous. You see them just as much as civics. That wasn't even metioning the convertiables. I used to own one (brand new) the thing started having weather stripping problems from the get go. Mustang makes you believe you are still owning a classic, but at the expensive of million other people having the same body car as you. S2000, is S2000, no other.

 

Who cares what other people think?
