I feel too priveledged than most people here
I'll probably be ordering some from tirerack.com today. It seems like lots of people on this board have had good luck with them. My boss just put new rear tires on his Boxster, he went the tirerack.com route, had them drop shipped to Big-O and everything went real smooth. Thx for asking, though.
I thought you were talking about a new car... in which case, my point still stands-- I don't want anyone else driving "my" new car...this means if you can't qualify to buy it, I agree with them not letting that person drive it... I wasn't directly calling you an "ASS"...sorry about that.

that's ok
I was having a bad day and was a little pissed
I'm all ok now
Yeah, I was upset that this S2000 was on consignment at a used car lot called "Fairly Reliable Bobs" and they basically wouldn't let me test drive the car.
The salesman that showed me the car opened the hood, showed the engine, and dropped the hood from about mid thigh. It didn't close all the way and as he goes to push down on the hood I start saying "NONONONOO!! don't do that! It's an aluminum hood, you push down on it, you'll bend it!" but, it was too late...he latched it, but it didn't look like it was hurt...
I would definately agree not letting ANYONE (even the dealer) drive a brand new S2000! But a used car? oh well, there's always next time!
Oh and jcasta02, don't go into VTEC )I hear is somewhere in the range of 6500~ rpms) until 600 miles...yeah, you might have revved it and whatnot, and probably no damage has been done, but please, try not to rev over 5500rpm's until 600 miles

It's a little reassuring now to see that they don't sell as hot as they used to, because that's about the first line that any salesman/saleswoman will make: "It's a VERY desirable car! There's people that are on waiting lists for over a year and a half trying to get one of these!"
The dealers were asking upwards of $36K for each of the cars...I'm sitting here thinking "I wouldn't pay that much for a NEW S2000!" I personally don't mind waiting a few months for an S2000 if it's going to be a NEW S2000 THE WAY I want it

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Hertz where they sell previously rented cars? If so, I hate to burst your bubble, but I wouldn't buy it. Have you ever driven a rental? Usually their abused and it is very important to do a proper break in for this car and most likely it wasn't done. Just my opinion though.
I never shifted early because it felt like it was time to shirt. I don't know where people get that feeling - I never felt it. I could clearly feel when the time was right - a little beyond redline..
