I finally bought one!
Well, after wanting one for the better part of a decade, searching with the intent of buying one two separate (about a year apart) times, doing some good searching for about 3 months, and being led-on for about a month with this one owner/seller (who I finally told to F-off), I went to look at one yesterday and am going back today to pick it up! I was surprised I slept at all last night, to tell you the truth! 2002 Suzuka Blue with 99,000 miles. got it for about 2-2500 less than what I've been finding them at. Only issue is it needs new rear tires, and the drilled and slotted front rotors are coming off, as well as the awful front strut tower bar. I can't wait to start autocrossing this car. My first REAL sports car!!!
Hey, with a little love a CRX can be a sports car too. I'm basing this off your username
My dad has a '86 Si that after 20+ years of ownership has turned into quite the machine. Without a doubt one of my favorite, if not my most favorite, car I've ever driven.
Congrats on the purchase, won't be long until the mod bug bites you haha

Yep, that CRX is still pretty fun. Really fun to throw a round an autocross course, but the S2000 has been my dream car ever since 2000, when I first saw a commercial for one. I'm still going to DD the crx, maybe autocross it some, probably let my wife autocross it because she's been wanting to do it for a while but can't drive a stick well enough (in her mind) yet. The S2000 is going to be my weekend car, and I'm going to autocross it and take it to some track days...once I learn how to drive it properly quickly.
Why would you take off the drilled and slotted rotors? ,or the strut bar too? A Strut bar is a nice thing to lean with your hand on while your changing the oil filter or even something more major.
My suggestion to you is get a compression/leak down test and maybe get your valve retainers checked and maybe a valve adjustment. if the owner made the rear tires bald way before the front then who knows how he drove it every day?

About the strut bar: It's not allowed for B Stock Autocross, or atleast none of the fast guys have them, and it has some corrosion under the paint on each end, so it looks crappy anyway. The rotors need to be turned, but in my experience slotted ones like these are really crappy and will cause brake shake after a few thousand miles anyway...plus I dont' know if they're legal for B Stock. First thing I need to do is fix everythign on the car that needs fixing, clean it up, apply wax and top protectant, and then I can start learning how to drive it. Maybe after all that I'll get to the modifications.
