Default I finally passed 100k Miles!

I bought my Silverstone\Red in October 1999 with 10 miles on it. A few days ago the odometer reached 100,000 miles. It was almost a surreal experience seeing that 1 show up where only a 0 had ever been.

My car has never given me a serious problem in all this time. I had the Buzzing on Deceleration TSB done at 35,000 miles and later I had the seat belt TSB done. I have very slowly modified it with Rick's original 1 piece X-Brace, Mugen 31.8mm sway bar, Mugen Header, Comptech Icebox, VAFC2 and Stoptech Slotted Rotor brake kit with stainless steel brake lines. This year I plan on getting gears and a new clutch.

The worst and most annoying problem my car developed over the years is a VERY large hole in the cheap plastic rear window. Living in a city with 4 seasons, I put the top up and down with regularity, and the window would fold in a V shape rather than fold smoothly. I never really thought much of it until it was too late. Like folding a piece of paper over and over again so that it's easy to tear along the crease, the V folding wore a hole clean through the window that is now about the size of a half-dollar. To add insult to injury I made the mistake of trying to push out a window fold on a cold day and with a loud pop I got an instant 6 inch tear in the window right next to the large hole. I get a little water inside when it rains, but nothing a towel won't fix. I might get the glass window installed this year, but it's gonna cost me 800 bucks.

I would not trade these last 7 years for anything. I have gone from spirited midnight drives under a full moon on a summer night to tracking the car at 9/10 and frying my brakes. It's been an amazingly unforgettable experience driving this car, but the most incredible thing is this community. It's the people that make it special. Even now, 9 times out of 10 when I pass another s2k on the street I get a wave or a honk from a complete stranger. It was like that back in 1999 and it's still like that now. I want to thank all of you for helping to make this 7 of the best years of my life.

Now I just need the car to hold together for another 100k miles....

^^haha, that's what I was thinking too

I agree though, the community is cool and I get waves from complete strangers driving S2000s too (and girls wishing they were in it, but that's a different story....).

After having owned a slew of domestic muscle cars, I checked this thread out to find out what I could expect to go wrong with my car by 100k miles -- this is so freakin refreshing!

Have fun with the car, I know I will!
