Default I hate it when...

I'm sure this has happened to everyone here at least once, but my family loves to do it to piss me off. I just want to knock someone out when they call my car a Miata. Then when they wake up, I want to have a huge side by side comparison chart of how far superior our car is.

Trust me, it's coming...

It happens to me all the time. People just don't realize what r&d has been put into the car. That's good and bad I guess but it's just irritating when they call it that. Maybe it's just me.

The Miata is one of the modern automotive world's most successful and revered convertible sports car. You don't think it had lots of R&D put into it? People who see "Miata" in their minds as something negative may simply be suffering from a diminished sense of "self". That's not a Miata "problem".
In the nearly 6 years I've owned my S, noone has commented to me making reference to a Miata. If they did, I certainly wouldn't get bent out of shape about it.

Having driven both miatas and s2000's, I would have to say there are good things about both and couldn't say one is so much better then the other.

I love it when people call my miata a "chick car" or a "gay car".. because I know how great the car is, and I know they probably haven't driven one. So... if someone calls your car a miata, tell them thank you because its a great car. If you ever get a chance to really drive a miata, you'll understand.

Plus, its fun when people under estimate my miata No one likes to loose to a chick car

I to am a Miata ouner turned S2000. I've got to say, while the Miata was a fun car, and took corners like a bike, the S seems to feel more sturdy and solid compared to the Miata. Any way, I'm already used to the small car jokes. Infact everyone at my work still refers to me as "Mr. Miata" Which I'm cool with. I know its just jellosy because they all want one to. Any of them jump at the chance to go for a ride, of cource the girls have first dibs

never gotten the miata comment before. Most people have NO idea what it is, and when i tell them its a honda, they are literally amazed. sometimes at the fact theyve never seen that car before, and sometimes because they feel honda hasn't made a good looking car in years
