it depends...not all sound good. one time i heard some noise coming down the street and thought it was another ricer civic but turned out to be a s2k...

i think the quieter exhausts sound better on the s2k than the loud obnoxious ones
Naw, my skunk2 megapower is loud but has the best note to it. Nothing beats the exhaust note that it makes, even if it is a little bit loud.

But then I got in my buddys car, Ray, and his intake sounded pretty cool too on stock exhaust. You could actually hear the engine lol.

I can deal with loudness but it's the drone that usually comes with louder exhausts is what turns me off.

I have a Tanabe Concept G mated to a berk tp and do love it. Nice and throaty down low and screams up top with zero drone.

The first one I test drove had a modded exhaust, and yes it did sound nice. Although I'm just learning on the stock model for now.

An interesting note, on a Ferrari 599 GTO, the race mode bypasses the mufflers and the sound is insane. Wonder if anyone has attempted that on an S.
I thought about installing an electric exhaust cut-out hooked up to a RPM switch programmed to 7K. This would automatically open the cut-out at 7K and above RPMs and close it back again below 7K. Just been lazy to do it. Someone please motivate me.

To me, 4 cyl engines either sound cheap or similar to a motorcycle. so far, I haven't heard one I'd be willing to live with on a day-to-day basis. I kind of prefer engine and intake sound with the stock exhaust...had an audible exhaust on a car before and grew tired of the constant noise. If my S2 was "track only", I'd definitely equip it with something.
