I just LOVE this car!
After nearly two years, I still LOVE this car.....
In the past two weeks I've noticed that two cars (well, 1 car, 1 SUV) have spun or nearly tipped as they followed me into and...most of the way out of a curve.
Both seemed to be trying to pass/tease me from behind (its a place that if I go one way, I'm fully warmed...and another, I have to cruise at 2 warming lights) and its a perfect S-curve...so I typically let them get close before entering the turn...while at the same time, trying to put a lot of space in between the car in front of me (so as to have a lot of road to myself in front of me)...and as we start to get close to the turn, I start to really accelerate into it as fast as I can...knowing I can hold the road...while well, the Camero spun 270 trying to follow...and the SUV...Lexus...tipped...just enough to scare...well, ruin the seats I bet, as if they went on what looked to me like two wheels a bit...while trying to follow me through the turn.
I LOVE it when others think that all the S2K can do is accelarate....as in, there is a much larger/longer s-curve, that daily, I get to see who has the...well, let's say confidence, that they can hold the road with me....I especially love it when a "ricer" or Eclipse tries to hang....after the middle of that first turn....they seem to be looking for a parking spot
Anyway, just wanted to say....this car is fun in sooooo many ways!

I used to have a Miata M edition (not much motor, but good handling). I had a cross braced roll bar in it and drove around on the street on my Toyo RA1 or Kumho Victoracer autox tires. Man, with race slicks (ok, one grove) on the car was planted like glue. There were plenty of times folks tried to follow me around curves (or in the lane next to me) only to find out how much stick I had. I could hear the squeal of their tires over the wind noise AND the stereo :-)
I would think the "great unwashed" would have the OPPOSITE impression of the S2000 - one look should tell you it likely can out-handle most cars. It is the VTEC than can "surprise" the rubes.
Drive careful!
