I knew it was a different yellow.. Damn!!
Has anyone heard or seen s2000 in this shade of yellow from the article below. Personally I prefer the Spa yellow over canary yellow. But as normal, we in Canada are getting the shaft.
This is what the article states..
"...You may have seen a few of these on the road already, but that would be uncommon, as the 2001 S2000 Yellow Pearl, from Honda, is available exclusively in Canada, and in limited quantities. The Yellow Pearl is a little different from its normal S2000 siblings in that it has a canary yellow paint job, plus a removable hard top. It first debuted at the Canadian International Auto Show, in Toronto, last February."
-thanks

From what I can gather from this poorly written description is that the "2001 S2000 Yellow Pearl, from Honda, is available exclusively in Canada." We all know this to be not true. Maybe he is saying the Yellow Pearl is different than the Spa Yellow Pearl.
I also believe the "writer" is describing the Yellow Pearl as canary, not differentiating between two shades of yellow.
It doesn't look like you are being shafted in you color choices. I just think your writer needs to hand over his box of crayons to a more competent wordsmith.
All in all, this guy's work is too sloppy for anyone to draw any clear conclusions.

According to Honda Canada's web site. The colour on the Hard top S2000 model is in fact, spa yellow pearl.

Yes, it looks like that article is just poorly written.

As an additional point I went to the Canadian International car show in Feb. 2001, and on the day I attended I did not see any Yellow S2000's. In fact it was my first time sitting in an S2000 and it was a Silver/Red.

HEHE...I love that. The editorial sounds more like a grade 7 writing assignment, than a competent, informative piece on the S2000.
On another note, the Spa Yellow Pearl (Hard top) is the same as any Spa Yellow S2K in the US or anywhere else for that matter. There were however, only 48 Spa Yellow S2Ks sold in Canada, and I got the last one hee hee hee
