ROFL at kids who claim to have worked since childbirth to afford an s2k..

If your anything less then a HS grad with a full-time job the only way you can afford an s2k is with mom/dad helping you. Otherwise your just another 18 year old with a ~10/hour job who has a rent payment.. not to a household but to a car. When your 22-23 and mom and dad kick you out you'll be selling the s2k for the piece of shit camry where you belong.

Stop lying, it is not a bad thing to be under mommy and daddy's wing though; cherish it while it lasts. I work at a bank and see countless mom and dad's throw away half their paychecks to irresponsible kids in college who claim those deposits as their own hard work.

Gtfo of here.

Hey im 19 and ive had an s2000 for over a year now it has a few mods seats exhaust rims ect. and i always get these total d-bags saying how much they like my daddys car and how they wish they had a ritch mommy to buy them stuff.... It sucks cuse i worked construction for 4 years to save up for it and sold my gsr. anyone else get this alot? what is your comeback to such an allegation?
I would take it as a compliment that I have a nice enough car that they have to bring out the old "your daddy bought you that car" crap.

You could reply back with yea and it rides real nice...how does yours ride?

I am 24 and at 16 my father gave me my first 1991 Ford Taurus, total crap but it got me around.

At 17 I bought a 1997 Saturn for $5,000 my dad co-signed and I paid it off in 3 years.

At 19 I purchased a 91 Integra w/b16 and I paid it off in a year with no co-signer.

At 21 I purchased a 98 Prelude and paid it off in 1 year. That same year I moved out of my parents home.

At 24 I purchased a 02 S2000 and still paying it off

The point of this post is that its ok if parents help you out, but don't let them down pay off your loans, open up realistic loans (my newest is a 02). Move out at a realistic time.

Remember a car is not everything, dont drain all your cash in it, and dont pay attention to people that know nothing about your life.

You should respond with this:

"I've never met my dad."

That actually is one of the better come backs because maybe they will think before they speak next time...or not but hopefully

i got that also when i was 18 but, at the time i was driving an 3G Acura TL with rims and A-SPEC factory kit. it had all the good stuff, bluetooth, heated seats exct.

Older people with POS cars use to look at me like "daddy bought it". I live with a single mother who is a stay home mother and younger brother. i pay for everything including mortgage.

im 21 now, and i have the s2000. fun car. i get less compliments tho but, thats not why i bought it.

like a few i dont care much for showing off what i have as many people have helped in one way or another even, if it hasnt been finacially.

also, not to brag or anything, and its not as much money as some people my age my think but, ive been making 50k since 18yrs old.

the more money you make, the more you spend.

dont let it bother you.

enjoy your car but, overall enjoy it with others.
