I love S2ks.... thinking about AP1
#4
Evo and s2k are two completely different kind of beast. I went from a turbo to my s2k and there's a big difference in power, but like you I loved how the s2k looks(with hardtop) so I bought one. I've learn to like the pros and cons of the s and enjoy driving. But like Saki GT say "why not", I didn't let the fact that the s didn't have a FI or other ppl's opion stop me from buying one. If you like it buy it, then if you get bored of it buy somthing else

how is your EVO hard to DD? The s2k is a bit more impractical, unless your Evo is pushing mean power.
Two door, two seats, small(er) trunk, etc.
Just my take .
S2K is a very impractical car, which I like

Totally different cars. If u like the creature comforts afforded by a 4 seat sedan, then you will not enjoy DDing the S. It too does not enjoy going slowly in traffic. I DD mine, and I love it, but I am willing to put up with just about anything for the feeling it gives you when you gun it to 9k.
As a track car, and as a car in general, you will find it infinitely more engaging to drive, especially an AP1, though of course, less powerful.
Be careful though, you no doubt have built up a strong feeling of confidence throwing your EVO around, cos they love that. If you disrespect the S (again especially an AP1), it will bite you HARD. The S is a much fussier car, youo need to check oil much more often, tire pressures and tire wear, and you really can't skip it, as the one day you don't check, something will go horribly wrong.
As you have probably heard, and this really is the best way to describe it; you don't get into an S, you strap it on. Many cars claim this, but the S sits near the top of the pile in terms of driver-centricity and driver involvement. I might always own an S, no matter what else I ever get. It's the ultimate sports car in many ways... convenient enough to DD (just), girls love it. Fast but fairly good on fuel. Handling, gearbox and engine are to die for. It looks timeless. It's rewarding and scary at the same time when driving on the edge, yet under 6k rpm it drives like a 2.0 civic (ie very civilised and easy). Clutch and diff are weak areas, especially if upping the power.
