I would like to start off by saying hi to everyone.. Hi... This is my first post, however I must say I've been lurking for some time now. You guys have a great site w/ tons of info.

Well I have decided I must have this car yup have been bitten by the s2k bug. I beleive there is something very special about this car, but I guess you guys already knew that.

So I have applied for a loan through lendingtree.com (BTW has anyone used this service? Hey the banks are competing for my business, so this is good right?) As soon as that is taken care of I am going to take a trip to the local dealership to strike a deal. Can anyone from this board in the MD area recommend a honest dealership?

I will let you guys know how it goes.

I would try to call ever dealer in your area within a 150 mile radius and get info on the car you want and the price they want. Here in CA the difference was close to $20k.

Welcome!

You can find a list of some dealers known to sell at or below MSRP here -> https://www.s2ki.com/dealerships/

Best of luck and I hope to be hearing more from you soon

Thanks for the tip guys.

I am going to email several dealerships to hopefully find a s2k at MSRP or better yet below MSRP (maybe wishful thinking)

cthree - I have visited and checked out the s2ki.com site, however could not find a dealership listed in the MD area. There were couple of VA shops but I do not want to buy the car from a different state.

I'm not what you would call a cut throat negotiator, so I need to find a honest and customer friendly dealership.

Good luck on that one

I'm in the same boat as you, but I think I've tracked mine down. They're open monday, fingers are crossed for good weather (haven't had it in over a week)! Good luck on yours!

I'm hoping that I can purchase the car without stepping foot in the dealership. Just can't stand pushy and dishonest people. Considering the demand for this car and also the time of year (convertilbe season) I can just imaging the headache of dealing w/ the saleperson. Thank goodness for the Internet.

Good luck finding an truly "honest" one at all. You may have to take a little "road trip" to get MSRP or below but there's a deal out there to be had I'm sure.

I believe the price for S2Ks recently is very favorable compare to couple years ago when dealers are totally gouging. So good luck...I agree owning S2K is a must...

I just got some quotes for financing through lendingtree.com. So phase 1 of this mission is complete. Now I'm patiently waiting for price quotes from AutoVantage. I am hoping to hear from the dealers with their 'best' price by tomorrow. So far the process has be relatively painless. Now getting them to honor their price (not adding any hidden charges) might prove to be more difficult, we'll have to wait and see.

I was hoping that some of the members from the MD area would recommend a honest dealership. Anyone?

I agree with you nvmys2k, I also feel that due to the current condition of the economy and with the confirmation of MY 2002 that MSRP is quite possible. But if I can't get MSRP in MD, well I just might have to look out of state.

Well the search continues....
