Keith,

I've emailed the National Motorists Assoc. (of which I'm a member) to try and get at LEAST an attorney referral. I copied you on it - we'll see what happens. I also copied the Tenn. chapter leader, maybe he'll know more about local stuff.

I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything.

Because the speed limit is set to produce revenue and NOT at a studied and verified safe limit. In fact MANY DOT signs on the road which you "must" obey are arbitrary and have no basis.

It's up to you if you want to bend over and take it "like a man" but I'll fight something like this every time and to the extent of my ability. Of course if you have the means to pay your traffic tax and get walked over by organizations like MADD and other knee jerk reactionists - feel free. In fact may we send you Keith's ticket?!?

Sent an email to a local Atty to see who he recommends. When I get an answer I'll PM you.

Keith-

Try Lewis Howard Jr. @ 865-588-4091. His offices are here in Knoxville. He's done quite a bit of work for me. He's a good guy. If he can't help I'm sure he can refer you to someone that can. Tell him I sent you.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Busy day today, checking into this.

I found 1 attorney so far that does traffic from Knoxville

Rickard Sedgley

I told him about the tape, and about the incident.

I need to send him the tape and a copy of the citation.

He has friends in the area. So this will help.

He needs to talk to the DA, get an extension if he can. May 16th isn't that far away.
Hopefully he can get the DA to view the tape and not need me there as a witness.
I will put a bunch of the cars in the rally to show how many of us where there.

No guarentees, but the cost for just getting the attorney is
$750.00, plus I will still have to pay any fine or court cost.

This really sucks. I had no idea.

I did look at all the sights you all posted. But nothing is concrete. I know I could go myself and do this alone. But that would be very difficult to do.

Not happy in Wisconsin

Plus the points would show up here in Wi too.

I have a question, does Tenn report things to Wi? I mean I know that not all states "talk" to each other... so you getting a citation in one state doesn't mean you will get points in your home state. Just a thought...

750 DOLLARS for representation!!!!! That's not including court costs and anything else!!!!

Now you have to weigh the benefits of just paying the fine, and trying to maintain a clean record for 1 year. After that one year, you can plea the court in Milwaukee to give you back some of your points, and go to driving school to get back the rest of your points.

If you have a good relationship with your State Farm agent, give him a call to see what his/her thoughts are. When I say good relationship, I mean, that he knows you by name and personal things, not just by a policy number

If you still have my card, give me a call....we'll talk some stuff out about what goes on in the insuarnce world.
