Default I need some help from Bay Area members, Please

I'm looking for some help on this one. I've found a 02 top and frame near SF and need to have it shipped to Louisville KY. The top is off the car and the owner has no idea on how to box it up to arrive safely on my end. Are there any members that could offer advice on who in SF might be able to get it boxed up at a resonable price.

Sorry, thought you were talking about Tampa Bay. There is more than one bay in the U.S. you know .

Wow...I'm from the Bay Area!

I use USPS for smaller items and UPS for larger. However, he's gotta take care of his own packaging and safety for the item as UPS isn't so good with that (but better than USPS).

Everything you need for packaging can be found at Staples but it takes some doing to make sure you get it right. If he needs help, have him send me a PM and I can walk him through it all if I find some free time...

BTW...

∙ Heavy
∙ Fragile
∙ High insurance
∙ Irregular shape

all mean high cost

Okay...I've been thinking it over and UPS might not accept something that size though I'd recommend he try them first.

The second best bet would be FedEx freight...up until a couple years ago, there were a few choices around here for private trucking companies to take your package for you but FedEx freight has recently bought them all up so there's not really many other options...

I had a top shipped to me via UPS from the East Coast.
It can be done. Cost about $60.

Out of curiosity, how did you get an '02 top and frame?
Is it off a wrecked car?

I've made arrangments for the top to ship via Forward Air.

My problem is Forward Air will not package it for him and I don't think the seller has ever had to create a box for something this large. I'm wondering if there is a someone/company that offers this service.

Is there a "mail boxes etc." or an actualy Fed-Ex store nearby? They charge for packaging, but can be done.
