Default i sold myself on the s2000...again.

i work at a local mitsy dealer. since we are the biggest evo dealer on the west coast, we sell a bunch of evos, obviously. that means we get some sweet trade ins... on our lot we have 2 RX8's,s2000, 03 lightning, 7 STI's(hahaha) and today, e46 ///M3.

the ///M is amazing. its that puke yellow color, i love it, gruppe s full catback exhaust. winter package. too much to list. it came into our shop for a UCI kit. used car inspection. i saw, asked the sales manger about it, he said that is cleared and they are going to put it on the lot and sell it. i jumped on it.

i took it out for a test drive, by myself, so i can drive it like i want to. the thing has power to burn. it sounds like a trans-am racer and is so nice inside! then as soon as i got back to the dealership, i jumped out of the ///M and into my s2k.

no contest. s2000. much more connected to the road, better steering, and just plain more fun to drive. i would miss vtec too much. maybe i am crazy, but i couldn't give up the keys to the s2k.

as soon as the word was out that i wasn't buying it, a salesman picked it up. it never hit the used car lot.

i am stupid for letting that car go?

Naahh. The S2000 has proved to me one point where it kicks all these other cars arses, RUNNING COST. The Bimmer would cost you more to maintain, tires, oil, you name it. You won't have any worries running up the ODO to whatever mileage you like. I've thought about other cars, but when I start looking at tire costs, maintenance costs, reliability, it always wins. They need to come on with the V10 NSX

you are not stupid my friend. i drove the e46 m3 with 6spd and smg numerous times. it sure is a hell of a car, but for me, it'll be a good car maybe when i'm about 30+ years old. for now, i need a car that talks to me when i drive her. this is the reason why i like the s2000 so much more than the rx8. i'm in the market for both cars right now, after driving both cars back to back, the s2000 wins hands down in the performance department.

vtec might not be as fast as an engine with more displacement, or as fast as turbo, but it's just deadly addictive. like you, i love the s2000, and at this point in my life, yes, i'd take it over an m3.

please note all above is my humble opinion.

tell me about it, i called bimmer on a P&A for oil for the ///M. dealer cost 9 bucks(8.71)a liter. the motor hold 6"liters" of oil. 62 bucks in just oil!!!!! 32 dollar oil filter!!!!

power delivery is nice in the ///M. it just pours on from idle to redline. i myself, like the violent hit of vtec. when my car hits the cam, the smile hits my face.

call me crazy, but my spoon N1 with berk test pipe sounds better than the big 3.2 with gruppe s pipes.

You are crazy vJDM, because we all know you're loaded. You should have bought the M as your "I need to appreciate my S more" car. ^_^

2 different cars, IMO the s2k to me is more exotic, a m3 is a nice GT car. Even though I would absolutly love an m3, I cannot bring myself to give up my s2k for one. I'd only give up the s2k for a nsx,355, and maybe a elise
