Default I think CDV saved my car....

Tried to teach a friend to drive this afternoon.

We were in a empty lot and practicing how to do a easy take off, and simply shift from one to second; traveling no more than 25MPH during the session.

After the lesson, I told my friend to stop the car, put it in neutral, apply the parking brake, and lets go home.

So friend stops the car, puts it in neutral, applies parking brake, but when he lets off the clutch quickly, the car lurches,...hard. I look down and realized he put it in first.

So did my friend hurt the car by dropping the clutch while the engine is idling with the gearbox in first gear, and foot on the brake? Did the CDV save some damage.

I don't notice anything different with the car, maybe I'm just being paranoid since the S is the most expensive car I ever purchased.

if you're paranoid about your car, don't use it to teach friend/s how to drive.

to answer your question, so he stalled the motor while idling, no immediate damage i could think of.

No difference from stalling it on an uphill takeoff, I seriously doubt any damage could have occurred.

Man, you got balls!
I would never let anyone practice driving stick-shifts with my S.
The only person I trust is my friend who owns an NSX.
Anyways, no worries! no damages

Has nothing to do with the CDV and there is no damage.
