Go to the dealer and tell the service advisor that you need a new CLUTCH DISC. THe 4 springs on the disc BROKE because S2000 wern't meant to be launched.
Total damage: 600.00 includes labor (maybe)
Brother's reaction::
PRICELESS.

"Stand still" .............................
I'm going to assume that this person is not a troll and not joking and simply has some terminology mixed up or misunderstood. You are thinking of a "brake stand", which is something that is usually done in an automatic vehicle for a launch. OR, you are thinking of moving off from a "standing start". No matter. I'm guessing that you tried to do a high rpm clutch drop launch and simply didn't do it right and burned your clutch. If this was your first time, you may be OK. By the time you read this post, your car is most likely driveable again since the clutch has now had a rest and has recovered to some degree. The severity of how badly you burned the clutch will determine if you need to go get it looked at. You'll know once you start to drive the car regularly. If the clutch is blown, it will cost you dearly and hopefully this will teach you to not repeat this in future.
A high rpm clutch drop in this car is not for the inexperienced. If you must "try" this sort of thing out, do so on a low grip road surface like water, sand, leaves, dirt. BUT, do it in a secluded place AWAY from other vehicles and property where you might incur damage. Of course, you must also be prepared to face the consequences of damage to your own car if something goes wrong with your "practice". For example, don't do this near a cliff.
(A large, flat, deserted airfield in the rain would be my choice.)
