Default I Think My S2k Is Missing A Piece.

I recently purchased a 01' silverstone on repo from my financial institution.

The car had been vandalized and I was wondering when they cracked the column maybe they also removed a piece from up under the driverside leg area.

It appears that a panel should cover the area between the steering column and the firewall area. there are ducts coming down for what I assume is the AC for the legs and also some tabs for something to go there. The Dealership here says that there is no part for that area but that just seems ridiculous.

There are some exposed wires and such as well

The car has been restored fully except for this area and i was hoping there was a part for this void.

Does anyone have a complete parts list for the 01' interior drivers side?? any help would be great!

Thanks

Bump

Seriously though this was getting buried fast and I just wanted to know if there is actually a cover in that area on other model years or other 01's

feel freem to PM if you need more in depth description of what I am talking about

I don't believe there is a cover. When you're in the driver's seat, do you see anything? If it's not visible, they wouldn't cover it.

Go find an S2000 for sale at a local dealer (probably doesn't need to be the same year as your car) and check it out. Off hand, I can't recall of there's a piece there or not.

You could also try PM-ing some of the Orlando crew. NZaizar would be able to help you out.

Thanks guys/gals

the body shop guys agreed with me and said it looks like something should be up in there but like i said the part does not seem to exist

So, I will try to look at others and see. I thought I was going mad because I guess some of the wire clusters came down while they were putting the column back together.

I think the way your car is now is the way it should be - ie - no cover.
my 04 looks exactly the same as the pic above. (except they moved the fusebox to the left innner panel).

yep that is what I am seeing. WOW it just looks like hell doesn't it. I know it is vain of me to be concerned about an area that never see the light of day but Damn that seems unfinished!!1

Thanks everyone for your input and allkingz for the photo I can sleep easier now
