A friend showed me a brochure from an Italian company Ovale Modena producing a sports car that looks more like an S2000 than anything else out there. I thought it was an S2000 with a fancy bolt on front end job and some air scoops on the side for the brakes. It turns out to be a very fast (almost Ferrari like) vehicle with a small V-8 putting out 340hp. The windshield is slightly more angled than the S. It retails for $85,000. Has anyone seen this car? If I can get the brochure I'll post pictures.

Yes, it is the Qvale Mangusta. Ford Mustang Cobra V-8, Mustang interior, Italian exterior styled by M. Gandini the guy that styled the Lambo Countach and Diablo

Brian Simo races one in the Trans-Am series

See Motor Trend Magazine, November 2000 issue (on newstands now), for cover story featuring the Qvale Mangusta, among others.

I think Sideways is talking about a different car.
The Mangusta looks nothing like an S2000.
Speaking of the Mangusta.
Did anyone else read where they dropped the price by $12k.
Oh well it is still ugly.

I don't think it looks that much like the stook, either. You be the judge. (Sorry for the crease, but it's a centerfold.

I saw pictures of the car above couple months backs.
My 1st impression was the same; looks like our stook.
I think it is actually a European car tho.
I kinda like it myself.

OK, I give up
What part looks like an S2k?
The side vents?
The molded in mirrors?
The rounded headlights?
The squared off rear wheel well?

The car is available here.
As a matter of fact Qvale is in Cali.

Uh, maybe it's just me, but I find this car fairly unattractive. The front looks awful and the interior looks like a gussied up Mustang.

I'm not sure who would pay $85K for this. Gentlemen, this is NSX territory! This is way above Corvette Z06 range. There are so many great cars that cost less than that. Heck, BMW M5 is about the same price.

I guarantee you that this car will not hold it's value.

Quick Reply: I thought it was an S2000......
