Default IAS Vortech SC pics

sorry for the poor quality of the pics, my hands were full so it was shaking a bit. I talked to one of the Vortech guys and they said it's ready to go, they're just making the parts right now. CARB approval should come shortly after (he said "there shouldn't be any problems with CARB"), and he said "it's putting MASSIVE amount of power" down - I'm a skeptic so I'll wait until I see it on a 3rd party dyno. Note it's a lot different from the November SC kit we saw at SEMA in Vegas - this version is much less "Comptech-like" than before.

I look forward to see their electronic control on the timing (some type of piggy back system) and the mechanical fuel delivery system that's boost dependent.

All I can say is "Gimmegimmegimmegimmegimme!"
Seriously, will it significantly increase low end torque?

So that's an "Of course not!" Mingster?

Yes, I guess it is, after skimming the 101 class.

Thanks for the link.

it should help, but probably not significant enough.

Isn't the Comptech supercharger, which uses a Vortex unit, very similar in design with the exception of the aftercooler?

I think AEM has now a programmble ECU that sits instead of the factory unit and emulates all its other functions as well as engine control. You can map your fuel curve through a laptop: http://www.aempower.com/application/ems_app.htm

I think if Vortec doesnt come up with a cleaner solution than a piggyback, this can always be an option
