If HONDATA had something for ALL S2Ks (corrected)
New corrected Poll.
If Hondata had an ECU for ALL MY S2Ks, who would buy it?
I'm not trying to get Hondata to do anything but i just wanted to see for myself what kind of demand there was.
(I set a new poll because the old one wasn't clear enough.)

With the cost of what it would be to try and create something like an "F-Pro" it would end up costing a lot more than an EMS and tuning. There are logistics here that simply can't be ignored nor circumvented. bottom line is that there won't be any hondata flashes for the 00-05 model years, and if there is, it's not gonna be anywhere near as cost effective as a stand alone unit.
also, look at the gains that ARE made with the hondata flash. those gains are WITH hondata IMG, test pipe, toda header, and exhaust. that's another like $2,000-$3,000 in parts!! Then add the cost of the hondata flash with it?
No thanks, I'll pass. I'd rather buy a supercharger for that amount.

It is a matter of desoldering and resoldering several chips from what I understand. Someone other than the Japanese companies need to take this on. $1200 for an ecu exchange is a bit overpriced.
Standalones are great but a plug and play solution is needed and considering you would have a market spreading 5 model years it makes good business sense as well.

i think you're missing what exactly must happen and must go on here in order for the logistics and mechanics to work. if you think pulling some chips off an 06, programming them for an 00-05 and then soldering them onto that car's ECU is all you have to do, you're quite mistaken.
