Agreed. Again, I know that this car isn't like a civic. I know that things are bound to happen. It just seems as though a lot of things are piling up right now. I haven't even had a chance to track the car, because I am busy fixing things to make it more suitable/ready for the track. I didn't want an AP2 so I knew that the newest model I could get was an '03 (which I got with relatively low miles to boot).

I will replace the parts, and enjoy the car. This is just a rant is all.

Thanks everyone for all of your responses so far. I see so many amazing cars on this forum that it sometimes feel as though I have the car that needs the most work to get it to the level that everyone else is at. I obviously know that this is a gross over exaggeration.

I found out both quarter panels were rewelded recently but the previous person whoever did it did a good job on paint and the work quality was good so I didn't find out until I got the QPs rolled. Then some of the parts not 100% color matched made sense. Luckily the frame was straight and the only real problems I had were funky clutch and strange clunking sound from the back (fixed with alignment)

Don't despair.

I bought a 01 s2000 a few weeks ago with all the records. It had all the services done at honda 30k, 60k completed with the clutch replaced at 62k. But it still has issues. The transmission is clunky and odd to shift(fluid replaced with honda mtf last weekend, better but still odd. Maybe slave cly?).

Just fix what you have. At least you know whats been replaced

damn NoBottle, i feel you brother.

had a MY00. wheel bearing went out in my first month of ownership. Diff went out so spent a chunk of change to the 4.56 comptech housing diff. not even days after that my car wouldn't start and just kept showing a blinking green key. then the cherry on the cake was when it got totaled out due to the seats being stolen (and other parts as well) and left top-down in the rain all night...

now i'm on to a MY02. and had to replace the coils, injectors. and my steel braided popped off it's AN fittin' spraying gas everywhere. my trans needs to heat before it can really shift. and the master slave, i think is going out. and now i have to rebuild the blower...

the little stuff starts piling up and makes you start really hating the car. i can say that when i drive it i'm happy but, still think from time to time about selling it and picking up a c5z or a Termi Cobra....

Luckily most of those aren't 'life threatnening' for the S. Sure, you are putting money on what you thought was a great shape car, but just keep in mind that all the hands on work you are doing will make you love the car even more when she gets to top condition.

Good luck with everything.

Yikes. A professional inspector would have caught these. Sometimes it's best to suck it up and pay for another person's experience. Hope you get everything sorted out without too much more pain.

Sounds like you got yourself a known lemon.. I've purchased my last three cars from a 55+ yr old man, a 50+ yr old real estate agent and the s2k from a 60+ yr old woman who only was selling because she couldn't get in and out of the car anymore. She wouldn't have even known what AP2v1 meant and thats the way i like it.

My .02:

If the passenger side rear wheel bearing checks out OK, don't replace it.
