Unhappy Ignorance is Bliss

I just posted on a rear differential issue, and it got me thinking....

Before I joined this site, I use to beat on my car daily. As with my Civic, I thought there was no major problems, since it's a Honda.

Now... this site has educated me. getting a CAI's you will risk hydrolocking, rear end will blow up if you launch to hard, the holes will get holes on it, the front bumper chips alot, #4 cylinder issues, oil bolt are in european cars and not ours!!!, etc....

I don't know if this knowledge is for better or worse.... most of these issues are from the a dozen people out of 35,000+ cars... what are the chances any of them will happne to me.

The information has change many of my decisions. I actually modified my car.. I got a Comptech filter, now changed to KN filter. I have a Spoon Style Snorkel comming in now, and looking at a VAFC (just for the lights).

I know these aren't much, but i usually don't mess with my cars at all.

I actually visited an autocross event.

What's next, the supercharger... this site is very influential..

Are there anyone out there like me.... not really into messing with your cars, and because of this site changed your driving habits, and messing with your cars.

It is just easy to reference specific "my car" related applications to your questions here. Since we all here are fellow s2000 owners and someone or another has gone through the same questions and projects that we are going through now, so it makes it easy to learn more, and get inspired by certain someones mods. I know i love checking out everyone elses cars, it is an inspiring thing and points me in the directions that i may want to take mine, (when the money floats in)

I'm not to sure what that #4 thing is but the cylinder gets messed up, for no reason, and the engine got to be replaced.

You see what i mean... paranoid is a good word.
