I know. Actually, several friends and one of my business partners own Porsche's. Unfortunately though, there are those out there that are so consumed with image and vanity that they behave like this guy did and I just can't seem to keep myself from slapping people like that back down to earth every chance I get...

Ignorant ppl come in all different colours, shapes, sizes and forms.
And yes, they drive S2000 as well (so go easy on the Porsche guys .

A good driver is a good driver, no matter where he is or what he is driving.

I really feel at home at the race tracks where people are polite and show much respect to other cars (be it a F360 or a Civic) and drivers (hardcore track junkies or novices).

but damn that was funny: 'What, can't afford the S?'

Cheers,

Humanatek,

Now THAT's some funny stuff!!!!!

I know that the manager must be a good driver. He owns an E36 BMW M3 as well as a black WRX (first he owned a yellow one, but I guess got sick of the color. Don't blame him, I've never liked the WRX yellow). Then again, I suppose there are ignorant folk everywhere who own tons of cars, but can't drive any of 'em.
Hell I'm busy enough learning to drive my ONE.

That whole thing yesterday just really got under my skin, I guess.
*shrug* Nice S2000, though. Now that I have a white car, I appreciate more and more how good cars look in white.

If that WRX STi does come out in a couple years, I think I'll go with white, again. That is, if I can't afford the Skyline (which'll probably be an Infinity, and I hope it isn't ugly).

For these "gotta drive it like you stole it" standard Boxster types, I humbly suggest a short-shifting race. Challenge them to a quarter mile, with upshifts at 2/3 of redline for each car. Do a rolling start. Put an observer in each car to verify that shifts were by the rules.

There are three good reasons to do this:

First, they would effectively be admitting up front that if you used VTEC you'd blow them away.

Second, I think you'd equal or beat a base Boxster (or Z3 3.0) even without VTEC. (And, after all, a tie is a win for you.)

Third, it would demonstrate to them the ignorance of quoting flywheel torque numbers without considering gearing.

If anyone does this, please post the results. I'd do it myself, but I'd have to find an asshole with a standard Boxster first.

Funny thread - I love this kind of stuff.

Siper2,
I am busy this weekend, but maybe the weekend after we could get together (Saturday/Sunday?). Perhaps we could pay a visit to the salesman, I would be more than glad to put a white flash in front of his eyes. Of course, I would never race my car, but I'm always up to a competive challenge. Which I proudly say I have been up to all the challenges in my class so far.

As for the Porshe, anyone can own one, but very few can drive one. I have a few friends that own Porshces that love it when I go for ride with them, they love the attention the cars get when the S2000 is in the group. We all laugh when someone says to me, "And what model Porsche is this, I've never seen it before." I simply go to my silver 'H' and dust it off and say, "Please do not insult my HONDA S2000."

Humanetek - Gee, what a smart saleguy. Insult the car that you're driving, hoping to get a sale from you. I like your closing lines though. I'm sure you would've whipped his ass on the road.
