Default iHATERACCCOONS

So I was heading home from my friends house bout 3am in the bayarea, driving on a main street no cars or nothing, as I drive and enjoy my car I see something from the corner of my eye! BAMMMM CRACK! First thought was I hit the raccoon it flew away I didn't stop immediately I was slowly cruising thinking f@#kkkk raccoon! As I roll thru I hear me running the poor bastard over . I was like shit I pulled over to see that my grill is destroyed and heard a leaking noise... coming from my car. I continue bout half a mile home and inspect it.. pretty bad the coolant wqas leaking and the radiator or a/c beam was bent.. I hit it at 35-40miles... the brighter side I'm paying 250 for deductable and no rise in insurance. So now my cars in the shop as I await the outcome fingers crossed for a new bumper and a new lip since it was already a little beat up btw it was a 2005 ap2

Could have been FAR worse.

Like hitting a deer, instead...for example.

Wow- Sorry to hear that, and what a coincidence. I hit one last summer in my MSM on the interstate going 75-80mph and did almost 3K worth of damage. Split the bumper cover, busted the radiator, left fog light assembly and twisted the bottom side of my intercooler and knocked the front end alignment out of spec. . I was completely in shock that such a small thing could do so much damage, must have titanium bones or something lol. And the only thing I could find of the raccoon was a chunk of hair and meat stuck in what was left of the splash guard under the bumper. I think the sorry bastard even got away, as I walked like 100 yards down the interstate looking for it afterwards (this was also in the middle of the night), and did not find anything but a few blood spots.

At least your damage was minimal. Like others have said, could have been worse...

Read on www.raccoonforum.com:
TOPIC: IHATE HONDA S2000S!

Someone ran over Joe today, he didn't have a chance. The #&%&$* driver didn't stop at the scene but later; I guess he was more worried about his #&%^($* car. I know you all have fond memories of Joe, but he's gone now...

Seriously, it's a bummer. At least it wasn't a water buffalo or something (I was hit by a deer -- not the other way around, way back when my Toyota pickup was only three weeks old. ARGH!
