I'm going to buy an S2K!!
Hey guys,
I dropped by a local Honda Dealership in search for a S2k. When I got there, there was a nice looking 00 Black/Red S2000. The asking price is $ 23991. The car has only 8K miles on it. I was wondering if that was a good price for it?? What is the normal going price for these cars anyway?? The sales guy was kinda pushy tellng me that this price is great for this car.
BTW this is my first post so, Hello everyone

What condition is it in? In "clean" condition, Edmunds.com says its worth about $23,300 as certified used from a dealership. In "outstanding" condition, $24,100. To me, the certified used car thing is a sham. I'd rather buy from another owner who you know (via reciepts, service records, garage, etc.) took fantastic care of the car and save yourself $2500.
Dealers are all crooks. Well, maybe not crooks, but they're out to make as much as they can on every car they sell.
Without any hesitation, I can tell you that the dealer got that car for AT LEAST $3000 less than they're asking for it.
That's your bargaining room. However, with a car that's a little "special" like this one (i.e. sports car with low-low mileage), you're going to have more trouble whacking a quick 3 grand off the asking price.
Ultimately, you need to decide what it's worth to you, then stick to that price when you go to negotiate. I for one wouldn't go near it at that price... low miles or not, it's still a 2000, and if you're willing to save for a little longer, you can get a new one. But that depends on your situation.

congrats and welcome!
in this area, that would be an awesome price. but that depends on the market value where you live. Cars tend to be more $$$ hear than out west where you are, so i hear.
Happy Motoring to you !

The car seems to be in tip top shape. They said that an old man traded it in for a bigger car because he couldnt drive the car anymore due to some health problems. Also, they said that its under a 7 year warranty or 100K miles or something like that. If I could get it for 21K I would take it in a heart beat!! Everything on the car seems flawless.. I was looking to spend around 19-22K on a s2k. HELP GUYS!!! Anyone know anyone selling one for around that price???

I would check http://www.cars.com . I just bought mine for 24,800. It is a 2003 Suzuka blue, Mint Condition with 2,600 miles.
I wouldn't pay more than $21k for it, but then again...I'm a cheap ass! Seriously, I would offer $20,500 and see what they say. Check AutoTrader, Ebay, etc for current prices. Year 2000's are going fairly cheap. Remember that it's now 4 yrs old, and brand new ones are going for $30,995.
