Default I'm having the worst luck with my S2000

I have to say I am usually a very cautious person when it comes to my cars. I have had maybe one scratch on my last four cars combined, but my luck must have run out when I got my S. I have only had the car since Dec 2002 and so far I scratched the front passenger quarter panel by leaning over it to add oil. Then a valet scratched it on the drivers door. Now yesterday I washed it and noticed a nice ding on the rear quarter panel. My detailer laughed his a** off when I brought him the car in this morning, since its been to him 3 times in the last 2 months. I must be cursed.

I think the S2000's paint is relatively fragile compared to other cars. You should probably just get used to the scratches. There are more to come.

Heh I dont mean to flame or anything. But:

- The scratch from leaning over it is easy to rub out yourself with a mildly agressive polish. Unless you were wearing some huge belt buckle

- You actually gave your car to a Valet? You're lucky a little scratch was all you came away with. If you care about your car enough to sweat small scratches then why on earth wouldn't you care enough to park your own car?

- The ding sucks, sorry to hear about that.

-The scratch from leaning over was from my leather jackets zipper, and was my own stupidity. It was pretty deep and had to be wet sanded out.

-The restaurant I was at was valet only, If you did not want to valet then you had to park across the street, It was winter and I was not about to walk. I have also never had a problem with that restaurants valet service before.

Quit complaining... I was rear ended 3 weeks ago.... and 2 days ago was caught in a huge hail(hell) storm!! I guess the only good news is... I had not put it in the shop yet for the rear end damage.

good luck with your dings and scratches...

Tell me about it!

I've been with my S for 3 months and the scratches, and chips are more than my 3 previous cars combined.

Get yourself a mechanic's fender mat. They're not that expensive and you'll fill oil in confidence and comfort.
As for your detailer laughing at you, I'd give him sh!t big time. You pay him, don't you? He makes his living from people like you, doesn't he? If he thinks it's so funny, would he laugh so hard if you went someplace else?

Is the paint really that much different than others cars. I ask because I have read several complaints on this board about the paint being weak.
