I was thinking this, then I thought it might be some kind of external shift indicator that beeps and lights up. Then I saw the second one.

Fake LED lights for a fake alarm??? Do they flash at any time. Can you look under the dash and see if they have any wires connecting to them?

They beep every five seconds and they go into the dash, but also into the engine..... it's really weird..... also they only beep when the engine is on.

The + - buttons are for increasing or decreasing the brightness of the dash illumination.

Mark, you do know you can go to Honda Owner's Link online, create an account, and get a PDF of your owner's manual, right? Haven't I ever sent you the link?
Also if you turn the lights on during the day you can press and hold the + for several seconds it will turn the dash light to full bright. I actually use this at night as well.
