I'm not sure what kind of project you're doing, but if I were doing a school project related to racing wheels, I think I'd do a little more than just search the Web to find some data. I'd use Google long enough to find out who makes carbon fiber wheels, pick a top company that seemed to have interesting products, and then I'd go to their Web site. I did this just for the heck of it, and what I came up with was a company called Mosler Automotive. You could Google "Mosler Automotive" and find their home page, or you could pick another company and find their homepage, and then, as I did with the Mosler site, look around until you find a link that will allow you to ask questions. I found the appropriate link at the bottom of the Mosler Automotive home page. I stopped at that point, because I'm not really working on a class research project, but if I had been, I'd have clicked on the link and sent them a nice explination of my project, and a list of questions I needed to have answered in order to complete the project. Odds are, the first company you contact will respond in short order, but if you don't hear from them in a day or two (business days), contact another company. If, after getting responses to your questions, you have further questions, contact the same company, and if possible the same person, again. You may well be surprised at how much most experts enjoy sharing the things they know.

You will learn more, and probably meet someone very cool.

I know some Exotics have magnesium wheels. I think the Carrera GT is one of them.

The only magnesium wheels I have any experience with are Cromodora wheels. They have been used as standard equipment on many Italian sports cars, including many Ferrari models.
