IMPORTANT - How to properly use the front tow hook...
NJTom! Nice to hear from another admitted trackspinner...! Here's a little detail about the turn. It's turn 11. I generally come into to the first of three brake markers at just shy of 100 mph. So it's pretty hard breaking. It's a 90 degreee turn that opens up into the track's longest straghtaway that ends into turn 1. I generally touch fourth coming into the first brake marker, back off with a downshift into 3rd at about 92, then downshift into 2nd about 75, finish braking, then begin turn in at the proper turn in point.
This time, I had just passed someone I was trying to get around and was a little preoccupied with the passing and when I found myself at the end of the straight, I just had too much speed and turning wasn't doing what I needed (that's called understeer, Banannie...
)...went as straight as I could into the grass.
So my assessment of the whole deal was that yes, I had too much speed, understeer out the wazhoo and then a car full of sand.
This was not something that was caused by oversteer or tailhappiness. Were this caused by oversteer, I would have entered the grass with my rear wheels on the leading edge or more closely positioned that way.
Anyway, the track is awesome...here's a track map with distances on it. Any more questions?!

Guess what used to be where the turn 11 sand trap is....THe ARMCO.
Be careful or you'll turn you beautiful street car into a race car and race cars are not very pretty.
P.s. When I was doing the SCCA thing back in the last millenia, I saw a few Showroom stock cars end up on the roof. I almost did it to myself when I slid off of turn one at IRP at about 110mph. A S2000 will roll if you put it off the track side ways and it digs in.
Back to fun stuff. I'm waiting for you to go to Grattan. I do like Gingerman because it's smooth but I find it very boring. It's one dimensional becuase it's sooooo flat. Grattan offers lots of excitement but is more difficult to learn because of the elevation changes.
