Default important note about those with or buying aftermarket wheels

make sure the wheels come with hubcentric rings. there's a huge difference in the feel of the car with and without the hubcentric rings.

it's a ring (usually provided by wheel manufacturers) that makes sure your wheels are centered correctly on the hub. eventhough securing those 5 lugs should theoretically center the wheel, but without the hubcentric ring my car felt weird (almost twitchy). i finally put the rings on my car yesterday, and what a difference!

(pss...and yes, we do carry the rings in stock).

My TE37's came with the rings. I did not "install" them however as they fit so extremely tightly that I feared just a few months worth of rust or just even heat cycles might stick them on for good! Anyway, I haven't noticed any weird vibrations. They're running very smmmooothly. I'll keep an eye for trouble though.

it's been a WHILE bro! when are we gonna hit the ACH again?

the spoon wheels didn't come with the rings, and the car just felt weird at speed without it.

I've had hub rings on all of my aftermarket rims.

hey mingster maybe you can help me....

i have racing hart cp035's and they use the basic bulge acorn style lug. Will the spoon lugs work, they look like acorn lugs but i cant really tell? I think the red ones would look sweet on the my white wheels???

tks,
dan

Anytime pal! There was a drive planned for ACH a few weeks back but I was out-of-town so I missed the fun. I know a cool loop through the San Bernardino Mtns. Maybe we could plan something before the snowy season?

Another important note is that nearly every aftermarket wheel on the market has incorrect offsets for the S2000. Most will rub the fenders when the suspension is under full compression. (The notable exceptions being the Honda JDM and Mugen wheels.)

I don't know about other rims, but my 18" TE37's don't rub when run hard. I was on Angeles Crest with these and I saw no evidence of rubbing on my tire or inside fender. Angeles Crest has plenty of twists and turns to test the car out. Also, I backed out of my driveway at an angle to a point where I had most of the car's weight on the front right and left rear rims. I got out of my car and looked and I still had at least half inch of clearance on the left rear wheel well.
