Thumbs up Included with purchase...

Been lurking for the past couple of months, but I finally bit the bullet and placed my money on the table for a new MY2005 Black S2000 The lease offer Honda is running right now is just simply toooo good to pass up.

The only hickup is that the local dealer does not have a black one in stock, but they say they can trade with another dealership and get it for me by next week. What I was wondering was: what should I expect to be with the car? It would really suck to get the car and have something "go missing" when the car is transferred from one dealer to another. Things like how many keys? Key fobs? Cool bells and whistles? (Well besides a killer engine )

Thanks,
and am REALLY looking forward to some top down driving this summer....

You should get three keys. Two normal keys with two remotes for the keyless entry and a grey key that's the valet key. It only operates the ignition and not the locking compartment between the seats or the trunk. You should have a set of floor mats. The owners manual will most likely be in the secret compartment. If you don't know where that's at, do a search!

That's pretty much all that the car somes with, unless I'm forgetting something. One thing you do need to check on before you drive off. The S2000 is shipped with rubber bumpers inserted in the springs of the suspension system. They protect the car during shipping by limiting how much the suspension can move while the car is tied down. They absolutely need to be removed before delivery. Most dealers are pretty good about it but there have been a number of reports from owners on this forum where they were not removed as required. Leaving these bumpers in place will seriously effect the cars handling, and NOT in a good way.

Congrats on the new car! Post pics when you can.

Steve R.

Also the tonneau cover. It snaps over the soft top to cover it when it's down. Tool kit for spare tire changing too. The spare (donut) is out of site in the trunk, behind a removable panel on the right side behind the passenger's seat.

I think you guys are forgetting a whole lot of other things that he should expect to come with a new car besides the engine. There's the great 6-speed manual transmission and clutch, 4 wheels and tires (with 5 lug nuts on each one), 4-wheel disc brakes, a differential, stiff suspension, aluminum hood, HID headlights, two windshield wipers, two doors, a stereo (with remote control and speakers), the aero screen, an antenna, tail lights, a trunk lid, ... The list goes on and on, depending on how detail you want it to be.

Aw, that came standard with your car? The dealer made me pay extra for that...
