Default Injen Cai review

Well i just installed the new injen cai last night and let me tell you guys this, its not a job for the typical assclown handyman! being one myself it took a few hours because of the fact that you have to snake the long ass tube through the engine bay. the result a very scratched up intake and some cut up hands. One thing i didnt like was having to cut large parts of the inner wheel-well so that the intake can route to the front bumper. i also didnt like the mickeymouse connecting tube that they give to connect one of the coolant lines. overall the install went kinda well, considering i actually got it in! just drove my car to school and it sounded great! its a nice and metalic sound at mid to low rpm and then turns into a screaming beast in vtec range. cant feel any power gains though... i'll post pics soon! oh ya, yes you do have to take the front bumper off! as well as the bottom gaurds!

Damn, now I'm all bummed. I wasn't aware it was going to be that much of a pain in the ass to install. Mine should be at home waiting for me today.

yah after a good drive around the neighborhood the intake is definetly loud... tonight im going to remove the fake duct so that more air can go in there but im afraid that it will be really loud since the filter will be exposed... well i dont know if i can post how much i paid for the intake beacuse of our sponsors but here it is anyway, 260! out the door! please feel free to edit or delete this message if its not legal to post prices.
oh yeah george i was at sac by 8am also... if you pm me when your free maybe we can meet up somewhere...
PS for you that are going to install this kit anytime soon, ignore step 10, instead route the intake tube from the top and snake it down. i found that listening to the instructions you end up scraping the tube against the ground.

actually i do plan on wrapping the tubing with some kinda thermal wrap... and actually the area of the tube near the radiator is pretty cool... the part that gets hot is the upper secion of the tube as it gets closer to the throttle body... any suggestions for insulation of some sort, i dont care how it looks cuz i scratched up the tube pretty well.
