Com might be computer


Are you plugging the scanner in with the key in "on" position. Almost sounds like the scanner is being plugged in with the key either out of the ignition or in off position.

Com not ready sounds like they failed to communicate with the on board diagnostics port (OBD). Like maybe they hooked up and got no signal????????? Hence, if my OBD reader is OK and it works on other cars and when I hook it up to yours it says "COM NOT READY" it's your problem not mine?
