Installed Bomz CAI ($50 after shipping)
I ordered AEM V2's from two different companies and both called me 4 days later telling me that they are on back order for 2 weeks. So this wasted a week of my time. Then I just decided to get a Bomz CAI for $32 off of ebay. $50 after shipping. The install was a little harder than I expected. Mainly because it was my first time. I could do it quickly if I did it again. Only problem is that it doesnt bolt into anything, but I did such a good job with the cutting( thank God for the dremel) it is very secure. Also, there are holes for the tubing and its not a very tight fit. In no way is this a well desined CAI compared to one of the known name brands. But, for $32 you really cannot complain. It still does the exact same thing that the AEM V2 would have done, just for well over $200 less. The filter looks exactly like the k&n that was on my Prelude's AEM V2. So hopefully it wont restrict too much air, if I feel it does then I will go get a new filter. The sound of vtec is amazing. Didnt drive it enough for the butt dyno to feel anything. Doubt I will notice the few hp anyways. All in all, I am happy with the intake. I think I could find much better things the spend the money I saved on this intake. Now Im waiting for the Berk Test pipe! Should be here tomorrow.
you get what you paid for...Don't complain if it's not CARB/smog exempt. AEM=$250 for a reason. This is your car lung, it is vital to engine for this lung to work properly during 9000RPM engagement...Suction is strong at this stage and a small leak would definitely cause harmful long term problems. would you skimp on it ???
If your answer is YES, then you might as well get some WANLI tires because they "looks" like those Yokohama.

even though filters look the same, they don't preform the same. there was a test somewhere that had comparisons on how ebay filters compared to k&n, apexi, greddy, etc.
apexi came up on top and the ebay ones were hooorrriiiblle...

Ewww bomz intake  I had one on my gsx and the damn thing fell apart all the time, the filter drug on the ground, and the pipes came diconected. The thing has nothing to support it besides the throttle body

Not knockin your decision though. Hope you're happy with the intake.

I have the Max Speed/Simota intake. They are a real company and seem to have good R&D. The fitment of the intake was good, and looks really nice. Came with flanges to bolt onto the car, and for the tubing things.
If you do a search for 'max speed' or 'simota' on ebay, check out their intake. It's only 100 bucks and they did flow tests and say that their filter outflows AEM and K&N.
