installed, "tested" KN drop in filter... and question
Well, intalled it in 1.2 minutes. And went driving. Does the car drive better than stock... no, not really. Is the car faster? no, don't think so. But the fit is "better" than JR. The problem with JR is that the tube can not be pushed up far enough, so you kinda have to shove the top a little. But this leads to my question. See, the rear JR is harder to fit is because the tube "funnels", where as the stock one and KN is pretty much a 90* bend. I wonder if the funnel is helping flow in the JR thus making just that little more power?

Don't get rid of that JR filter just yet! I had a difficult time installing mine until I tried a little trick. I noticed that the difficulty mainly was due to the fact that the "funnel" portion (base) of the filter wouldn't expand enough to fit the intake tube. So I broke out a hair dryer and applied some heat to the funnel for a few minutes. It softened the funnel enough where I could slide the filter on the intake tube a little easier (but I still required some muscle).
It fit perfectly and very snugly. The airbox cover also reinstalled perfectly too. Try it.

Got my K&N yesterday - Installed it last night in 5 minutes - 4 minutes spent looking at stuff, 1 minute actual installation. Obviously no problems with the K&N - Went on smoothly (although I did apply a light coating of silicone spray), fit PERFECTLY, and everything closed up fine.
No surprises here - K&N makes great products!!!
