Default Installing AC unit on S2000CR

Ok guys, I would really appreciate some help. I may be able to purchase a brand new 08 CR w/o AC/Radio for $28K before taxes, etc. Now, I just wanted to see how much it would cost to install AC in the car. I've already tried searching on the forum and the net. I couldn't come up with anything so I figured someone would know here. Thanks in advance.

Most honda A/C systems cost about $1100 for parts. Thats the compressor, evaporator core, condensor, drier, and all the lines. I dont know off hand what the S2k system is, but accord, crv, odyssey - all are right in the $1k ballpark.

How much do you think it'll cost with labor included? I figure at 28K for a brand new CR it's still a good deal even if I have to install the AC afterwards.

Probably $1k for labor. Not really a deal, but if I were you, I'd have the dealer sell the CR for $29 after they install the system.

That's funny, I'd rather have the Radio and ditch the AC. I wish you were able to pick one of the two.

They could always get you one w/ the A/C and radio and charge you the difference, it would be less expensive this way, and everything was be installed from the factory, with no worries.

Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

okay, just talked to the dealership. They're saying that there is no AC unit for this car to install. Is this true?

They are wrong and most likely dont want to do it because its more work for them to get the sale.

After all, its an option to have AC/Radio or not in the CR...

Yeah they just dont wanna go through the trouble. Look on autotrader to try and find one within driving distance from you. Im sure if you look hard enough youll find the one thats just right.
