I managed to install the spring and the door in about 10 minutes once I figured out how the spring works. First thing to do is install the right hand door hinge pin. At this point the door is still movable. Now take the spring and install it on the door first with the short end of the spring down and forward. The next step is to hold the spring in place with your finger and start moving it in place with the longer end of the spring just resting on the inside bottom of the door. Now start moving it in place by continuing to hold the spring with your finger make sure the door is still a not lined up so that you can take a small flat screwdriver and push up on the longer end of the spring so that it slides into the slot on the door frame. At this stage all that is needed is to slide the door pin in place. continue to hold the spring with your finger until you have the hinge pin completely inserted.
well shit, I should have just taken out my dentist kit then
I tried screwdrivers, pens, smaller screwdrivers, whatever I could fit in there. Then I went to ace hardware and they had this cylindrical tool that fit perfectly in there. A punch tool or something. Hit it with a hammer and then blam, pin came out. I have a few different radio door designs so I just keep it with my other s2000 stuff.
Use a heat gun to warm that area up and push it out with a small needle of some sort.
I bought this punch tool which makes it super easy with a hammer. I'm sure I could have found for the correct size allen key but everything I was trying was failing to grab the edges of the pin. It's an odd little pin.

Don’t remember what size I used but the short end of an Allen key worked great for me.
I just did this over the weekend myself...the smallest allen wrench is the one you want, fit's right in there far enough so you can pull the other end with a pair of needle nose pliers. I don't understand the whole spring issue, it went right back together.
I did the spring side first. Small flat head screwdriver keeping tension on the spring, slide it into the groove, put your pin back in. Put the pin in the other side.
I forgot to wipe clean the bottom groove where the door sits, I took the door off a second time to clean it, and then put it back together again. This being the first time I've done this, I could do it again in under 5 minutes.
