It does not matter what type of driver you are. It's still going to be expensive if you're under 25 to have a car like this, IMO.

Call your insurance company. Every reputable company will give you an quote and store that quote if you actually buy the car. I always get a quote before I ever look at any car. The differences in cars that seem similiar can be surprising. If you don't like what they are charging you can look at other companies and get more quotes. Beware of fly by night internet companies however. There are lots of them out there and they won't be there when you need them.

Just some numbers.......

Friends 944T in NYC 1500 a year
in Florida 650 a year....

My S2000 in NYC (21yo) $5400 a year
Florida......do the math.....

I have it insured under my moms name and I insured the RL to make it less. So no need to flame about me paying so much

J Roman,

As others have said, the only way to know what insurance will cost, for your given situation, is to call around and get some quotes. For most larger insurance companies, you can get estimates online.

I'm currently 25 and pay $650 every 6 months for my '02 S2000. It's listed as my daily driver of 30k miles a year. This is for $50k / $100k / $50k coverage.

When I bought the car, I was 23, and at that time, I was paying $900 every 6 months, but for only $30k / $50k / $30k coverage.

This is with the S2000 was the only car on the policy, and no points on my record.

If I had to take a wild stab, I'd guess you're looking at maybe $3000-$4000 a year...but the only way to really know is to call and ask. Good luck!
